90 day Challenge-DAY 1

Posted: January 20, 2014 in 90 day Challenge

Well it’s here!!! That day we may have hoped it would have taken it’s time to get here. The day where we have to face our fears and start with the NEW YOU!!!!

1 John 2:15-16 “Do not love the world or anything in the world.  If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.  For everything in the world-the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does-comes not from the Father but from the world.”

So how was everyone’s weekend?  Did you end up “cheating” because you know you were going to start on Monday?  I have to say I had a bowl of ice cream! I cheated a bit, but I do have to say that was all I did.  With that said, I am going to do better.  Especially on the weekends!!  We all need to stay FOCUSED and EMPOWERED!!!  Psalm 139 says God made us wonderful.  He made YOU beautiful and wonderful.  Just because you are not that “super model” on that magazine that you see in the line at the store does NOT mean you are not beautiful.  Beautiful starts and ends with the heart.  I have met a lot of, what seemed like, beautiful woman, but they were very sour in their personality.  Nothing is worse than a woman or man who has a sour personality.  Next time you look in the mirror, try telling yourself YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL!!!!

You know when you try to find out when God is talking to you, and you wonder if He will answer and when?  He has been talking to me a lot lately.  I started this blog and this 90 day challenge.  This is helping me a lot spiritually.  We went to church this morning and guess what the pastor talks about?  1 Timothy 4:6-15, He talked about being our own discipline in our life.   Not our spouse, kids, family, etc. OUR OWN DISCIPLINE!!!  We need to discipline ourselves to stay focused, conquer the enemy.  Have FAITH in yourself.  1 Timothy 4:8 says this, “For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come. “   We need to shape our bodies to Christ and be careful of this world.  We cannot be shaped by everything and anything.  We can only be shaped by Christ.  This is where our discipline in ourselves comes in.  We need to filter out all the worldly fables and focus on what God wants us to do.  This world today expects only certain things from everyone.  But, do you really think that is what God wants?  He made us all different.  Yes, I can relate to the skinny happy wife that looks perfect, is always glowing, creative, homeschools, has “perfect” kids, and is giving.  But, think about HOW she got that way….  God gave her a gift.  She is even using her gift and she is just standing out more because she is using her gift.  She is a child of God and sharing her gifts with others.  I know there are times we want to be someone else, but I am here to tell you that family is not perfect.  They are human and the things that she is not good at she struggles with and is hiding it just like we do.  We all have different struggles.

If we have discipline we will have spiritual muscle.  Let’s make sure we are drinking the RIGHT WATER not the wrong water.  The wrong water will dilute your spirit; it will soak you up and leave you empty.  So, let’s drink the right water and build our spiritual muscle.  We will then be shaped for eternity and be filled and focused to conquer our enemy.

Monday Goal= Drink at least 2 glasses of water daily.

If you are following Made to Crave:

In the book Lysa talks about the word Indulge.  Indulge means to take unrestrained pleasure in something.  The food you think you want might seem good at the moment, but after you eat it you feel terrible, guilty, and wonder why you even ate that.  We need to deny ourselves.  Mark 8:34 states, “And when he had called the people into him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.”  Meaning deny that brownie, turn away from it, pick yourself up and turn to Jesus.  We need to make sure you WANT THIS.  How bad do you REALLY want to be healthy?  Are you CRAVING to be healthy?  Or you just think it’s a good idea for now?  Don’t already think you’re not going to be able to do sit-ups or eat healthier.  The enemy is already trying to psych you out!! Show the enemy how STRONG you are.  Show him Jesus reigns over him.  Don’t let the enemy already grab a hold of your spiritual being.  The enemy wants you to fail.  Don’t let the enemy win today!!!

Day 1 for Made to crave book:

Watch video!

Read Intro and Chapter 1

Some things that stood out to me:

  1. Imagine Jesus looking at you straight in the eye saying, “I want you to give up the one thing you crave more than me. Then come, follow me.”
  2. With Jesus, if we want to gain, we must give up.  If we want to be filled, we must deny ourselves.  If we want to truly get close to God, we’ll have to distance ourselves from other things.  If we want to conquer our cravings, we’ll have to redirect them to GOD.
  3. Ask God to give you the desire to be healthy.
  4. I am made to rise up, do battle with my issues and, using the Lord’s strength in me, defeat them—spiritually, physically, and mentally—to the glory of God.

What stood out to you most?  Did anything make you want to just throw the book across the room?  What are your thoughts, I would love to hear what you have to say.  I will probably put some more through comments and such.  May God give you all strength, wisdom, and Discipline Today and this week.  Remember goal is at least 2 glasses of water a day.
